AP Venom - Champagne Poetry Remix

AP Venom - Champagne Poetry Remix

AP Venom jumps on a remix of Drake's Champagne Poetry from the Certified Lover Boy album. This comes as no surprise as AP has been on a killing spree lately as seen on his remix of the Lemmon Pepper Freestyle. This time the GMG Golden Spitter goes deeper with the bars as he offer clear headed insight on his come up.

Champagne poetry AP remix Lyrics

AP Venom, couldn’t leave this one alone either

Let’s go, uh-uh

Dreams don’t mean nothing at all where I’m from

Mentally flawed, the only thought going forward is “get a job”

If you don’t conform to the norms your fam offers no support

I recall

Being told that art is a lost course

I was torn

Art and song is what I’m on this earth for

When I was born

I think art is what I held in my palm

When I write

I feel love course through my right arm

I said, I would change the world with the mic and my own voice

I remember being told for a boy I was quite soft

The same people you thought you ride for go and put up roadblock

With hopes I’d amount to nought, in their hearts they tied knots

Fast forward

Where I am is where you’re not (uh-uh-uh)

I’m a product of our cold society’s blind spot

So, I stare in awe at all my flaws and get that awkward response

I won’t conform, I’ll risk it all

Watch me transform and evolve

Cowards run; I’m moving calm. Harm will never cause me alarm

Impossible is a tale that I don’t harbour at all

I’m the sort of force that history forgot to record

The rare breed catalogue the future forgot to applaud

Failure is course that was sold and taught and most of y’all bought

So, the day you saw me fall, and even thought of pulling the cord

You also saw four flawed unicorns at dawn crossing your lawn

Venom a fire hazard, go and ring the alarm

For as long as I’m alive, hip hop will never die

I was born for this, I was born for this

And this is why I…

keep my head up even when it’s pouring down, I am that fool

They’ll never love you unless they feel above you

See, they aint believe in me initially

But then, when they wrote me off, I stayed writing

I stayed grinding

Yeah, ‘cuz we was living in the…

back of the back of the crib

Where I planted this lyrical seed

You can tell by the way that I spit

And also the lines that I spit

I’m a beast with the lyrical skill

Took a ride just the future and me

I hoped in the passenger seat

The 9? Then your melon I split

The mic? Then its fire I spit

I’m the last of the last of this breed

Before I throw you in the Lazarus pit

I’m thinking its better you quit

Or return when you’re better equipped

nigga

AP VENOM - LEMON PEPPER FRESSTYLE (Prod. By Yung Liz)

After the global success of the 2018 single, the Genius Muzik's Golden Spitter return with a remix to Drake's Lemon Pepper Freestyle.  The newly graduate raps over this soulful beat with great confidence and remorse. This time he seem fully aware of his triumphs and latent abilities. Its an amazing listen on your speaker or your way home through your earphones. Enjoy.

Check out visuals below

Lyrics
AP Venom
You know I had to get up on this
let’s go

For all you haters, here’s a message
I’m glad you hated, I graduated
You made it seem impossible, but then I made it
Yeah
Sometimes I wish my skin wasn’t this dark, and my hair? Maybe straighten it out
Who I am is enough to raise an alarm
But there’s nothing to see here, move it along
Long as my grandma watching me, I can never be harmed
Melanin’s a substance found in the stars
I’ve been a king since the beginning of time
Hurt the flesh, my soul can never be touched
Fame and fortune, I will reach those heights
Picture this; different cities on flights, touch down, tickets sold out, on stage steady gripping the mic
Until you see that, I’m not gonna die
I’m proud that I learn from my problems, I promise, you start a war I’ll probably finish it nigga
Go ahead and try it
Ever been in such a space in your heart so empty, and deserted that nobody hears you when you scream, and you shout
stay on my grind
I remember the times when I would cry, life was hard, and it seemed like I ain’t making it out
I can see most of y’all when you hate, and you doubt
Waste of your time, approval is something I’m living without

For all you haters, this is the message
I’m glad you hated
But then I graduated
I’m going back in

2018, the clearest sign of a come up
Played in New York, Chicago, Ireland and Ghana
Reviewed on YouTube, on radio, and scored an article
Niggas think that I’m stunting, I ain’t even tryna
I know niggas who ain’t hide that they were haters
If you ask the homie Tragic, he’s gonna tell you
But when we see them, they…nothing to say now
Whenever smoke is on the rise, I keep my head down
Low profile, but my grind is gonna stay up
Me versus them? That’s a lot of ground to cover
They couldn’t catch up even before I was a runner
I live in my mind, stare at the clock as the time goes
Unpleasant memories still hanging up on my wall
Sometimes it feels dark, healing traumas is a struggle
They don’t try to know me, and dismiss me as a weirdo
I’m no longer puzzled by no space I don’t fit into
Dancing with the angels when the devil tryna tango
Things you can never know looking through a tinted window
They ain’t help me build but they wanna knock at my door
Mirror reflection is the only time I see my equal
Next part of my story is better, wait for the sequel
If the vibe ain’t right then it’s goodbye, keep it simple
Judge me all you want, but I don’t like certain people
Like, if you’re cool, you’ll find I’m free spirited too
And if I see you’re fake, you’ll find I’m quick to throw up the deuce
My mind’s a device, it is vile and it’s evil
That’s why I say away from the cigs and the liquor
For a chick, I will never fight a nigga
At the slightest sign that she actually considers him, without a second thought I cut her off, he can keep her
Girls are still finding themselves, I guess it’s best to find a woman
They’re sleeping on me, I ain’t disturbing their snooze
Soon enough, I’ll be sitting on some million views
If it’s war then it’s war, I don’t settle for truce
Shoot ‘em down with success, leave them dead and confused
I owe credit to people who ain’t believe in me
Hate is a powerful tool if you know how to handle it
It’s because of y’all I painted a picture vivid as this
The future came to see me, the visit was bliss
It said if I fall silent, the vision will speak
‘Cuz I’ve been cooking for years, nobody bothered with
Taking a chance on the dish, but I perfected it
And I’ll tell you that love’s the main ingredient
Your favourite rapper just couldn’t get up on this beat
And if he did, he couldn’t kill it like I did
I’ve been a king, the pen is moving with ease
They say money changes the people around you
I guess being rich is gonna leave me with trust issues

Uh
For all you haters, here’s a message
I’m glad you hated, I graduated
You made it seem impossible, but then I made it
Amazing ain’t it?

According to Nigerian blogger, Abbey's Chronicles:

''The lyrics of this song takes us through an emotional tale that revolves around the pain of betrayal, death of a loved one and losing trust in people and friendships. There’s a bit of everything in there that each of us as listeners can relate to, I for one can relate to the feeling he protrayed of being betrayed by someone I once considered as family and I’m still dealing with that hurt.''

''As saddening as most of this song was there was still a display of strength and conviction of better days to come on this track, and that really makes this song even more well rounded to me. ''

AP Venom x Pauletta-2018 | Lyrics

Hook
-You’re covered in scars, you’re hurting
-But when you burn you learn
-I know one thing for certain
-you’re the definition of a soldier now, warrior
-I need you to hold it down
-They can hate if they want
- I won’t be phased, I won’t run
-Definition of a soldier now

Verse 1
-I say…
-Sum up 2018 in one word, lessons
-Sum up all your lessons in one word, blessings
-I found me a home in many hearts, too many mansions
-I’m not about to call nobody out, too many mentions
-When the road got rough, I hit the road and stayed healthy
-Enemies think they’ve got me figured out, they never met me
-Damn lately, I’ve been going through a lot of changes
-But I’m only going through them I promise they won’t change me
-I also made a lot of what we call friends
-Most of them won’t even text first
-Well, except for when they need help
-You see then, when life got ‘em drowning in the deep end
-The only time they realise there’s you in this existence, but oh well
-What can I do, I’m only human
-I can only whish them well, happy new years
-it’s true, yes. This year I’ll be quick to close curtains

Hook
-You’re covered in scars, you’re hurting
-But when you burn you learn
-I know one thing for certain
-you’re the definition of a soldier now, warrior
-I need you to hold it down
-They can hate if they want
- I won’t be phased, I won’t run
-Definition of a soldier now

Verse 2
-If there’s one thing I know that I’m not, selfish
-But people are weird, people are twisted
-I learned when you have a good heart, they take advantage
-But it never really gets them far, check their mileage
-A conversation about somebody’s life, don’t even start it
-Hit me up with something that could get us money in our pockets
-Tread carefully, gossip gets you misinformed
-Wonder why you always see me with my headphones on
-Last year I had to learn to cut people off
-Met a nigga in need, treated him like he’s my brother
-And I did it just to help him, not for favours
-But the same person had the nerves to steal from me
-Had me asking myself, like, am I kind or stupid
-I’m kind of stupid, I guess
-I fed you when no one would, how could you do me like that
-You don’t get what you give, I had to learn that fact
-I’m no longer who I was back then

Hook
-You’re covered in scars, you’re hurting
-But when you burn you learn
-I know one thing for certain
-you’re the definition of a soldier now, warrior
-I need you to hold it down
-They can hate if they want
- I won’t be phased, I won’t run
-Definition of a soldier now

Verse 3
-Man, I got real messed up second semester
-In September I lost my Grandpa
-Then in October I lost my Grandma
-To Grandma the queen who brought me up
-You said you wouldn’t make it, but I had my fingers crossed
-But you saw ahead of time, you were right all along
-You wouldn’t be around by the time I got this job, I’m really cross
-My goal was to get you everything you wanted
-I guess fate didn’t allow it
-It brings me so much pain when I think about it
-That I devised a plan, but it fell flat
-Time to face facts and really accept that time will never turn back
-And I can just sit back and blame it on the setbacks that I’ve had but instead, I’m just sad
-I need a life saver, my heart is drowning deep in regret
-Didn’t come and see you just as much as I should have
-it’s too late, I still remember when
-I told lame jokes and had you crack up, damn I really miss that
-Though my heart is filled with should have beens and could have beens

-In my heart you will never die, may you rest in peace…please
